My Services

Recognizing that mental health is just one piece of the puzzle, I take a holistic approach to treatment.  When appropriate, insights from other areas of  health-such as primary care, nutrition, and physical activity-will be integrated into your therapeutic plan, empowering you to achieve wellness on every level.

I offer individual therapy for adults suffering from:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Disordered Eating
  • ADHD
  • Relational issues
  • Stress Management
  • Trauma
  • Low Self Esteem

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a method of therapy that focuses on teaching the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behavior. By gaining awareness of the relationship between thoughts and behavior, we can influence how we feel.

CBT is a proven method of treatment for anxiety, depression, and many other conditions that create stress in our lives.

Animal-Assisted Therapy

The bond between people and animals has proven to be beneficial in many areas of our lives. Research has shown that animal assisted therapy is especially helpful for individuals dealing with trauma, depression, or anxiety. Their presence during the session often creates a calming environment, enhancing trust and emotional openness in therapy.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, or MBCT, combines cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness practices, such as meditation and breathing exercises.

Mindfulness meditation not only improves self awareness, but it also helps individuals achieve emotional regulation, reduce stress, and enhance overall wellbeing.

Telehealth

Telehealth sessions are offered via live video conferencing.

This can be done anywhere you have adequate privacy, and a computer or smartphone.

Anxiety

Persistent or intense anxiety can interfere with daily life, and may indicate an anxiety disorder.  Common symptoms include restlessness, rapid heartbeat, excessive worry, motor tension, disrupted sleep, irritability, etc.. Treatment can be extremely beneficial, and might include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, medication, or a combination of both.

ADD/ADHD Counseling

Therapy for adult ADHD helps individuals better understand their symptoms, develop practical coping strategies and improve skills like time management, organization and emotional regulation.

Disordered Eating

Disordered eating is not a diagnosis but a phrase used to describe a range of problematic eating behaviors. The signs and symptoms are similar to those of an eating disorder, although they will vary with frequency and severity. While disordered eating may not result in the extreme symptoms seen in a diagnosable eating disorder, it has the potential to negatively impact a person’s life.

Depression

Depression is an intense, persistent feeling of sadness. While everyone feels sad from time to time, individuals with (clinical) depression experience changes in their mood that linger for weeks or months. It may or may not be triggered by external circumstances, but it definitely affects that quality of their lives.

Changes in your mood, sleep pattern, energy level, appetite, concentration, or ability to experience pleasure might indicate that you would benefit from further evaluation.

Women’s Issues

Women may experience certain environmental, psychological, or hormonal changes that have an  impact on their mental health. In particular, pregnancy, the menstrual cycle, infertility, or menopause are known to trigger symptoms of depression in some women.

Therapy can be beneficial in helping women navigate these challenging stages of life.
